Modera Space

You bring the space and how you want to live or work in it. We turn that into a layout, materials and a calm, modern look — planned to work on an ordinary day, not just in a photo.

About the studio

Space, considered down to the last detail.

We're Modera Space — a Riga studio working on homes, offices and commercial interiors across Latvia and Europe. Calm, modern spaces that look good and still work on a busy Tuesday morning.

We start with how a space is actually used: where people walk, where light falls, what needs to be stored and what should stay visible. The look comes after that. Always. So the result feels natural when you're living in it — not just impressive when someone visits.

  • AestheticsA clear, contemporary look — nothing trendy for its own sake.
  • UsabilityLayouts shaped around how you actually move through the day.
  • EfficiencyEvery square metre doing something useful.

Before the concept

First we solve the space. Then we style it.

Before we talk about colour or furniture, we figure out where things go. Clear zones. Natural movement. Storage where you actually need it. Light planned around how the room is used.

Space planning

We draw the invisible layer first — flow, storage, daylight — and only then choose finishes and pieces. That's why the finished space feels calm instead of over-designed.

Selected design directions

Three calm ways a space can work.

Three kinds of briefs we work on often — not a project gallery, just a sense of how we think about different spaces.

What we do

Services

From the first zoning sketch to a build-ready concept. One studio, one thread — no hand-offs halfway through.

  1. 01

    Interior Design

Full interior concepts for homes and commercial spaces: layout, materials, colour, lighting and the details a contractor can actually build from.

  2. 02

    Space Planning

Layouts and zoning that respect every square metre — where people walk, what they see first, and how the room breathes.

  3. 03

    Design Concept Development

Moodboards, palettes and a visual direction everyone agrees on — before we spend time on detailed drawings.

  4. 04

    Furniture & Finishes

Furniture, finishes and fixtures (FF&E) chosen to fit the concept, the budget and how you'll actually use the space.

  5. 05

    Lighting Design

Layered lighting plans that shape mood and function — daylight, task and ambient light working together.

  6. 06

    3D Visualisation

Realistic visuals so you can see and approve the direction before anything gets built. Less guesswork, fewer surprises on site.

How we work

Four stages, one clear path

  1. 01

    Discovery & brief

We visit the space (or review plans if it's early), talk through how you want to use it, your budget and timeline. No jargon — just a clear picture of what you need.

  2. 02

    Concept & planning

Layouts, zoning, moodboards and material direction. We agree on the vision before detailed drawings start — so you're not paying for changes you didn't sign up for.

  3. 03

    Design development

Detailed drawings, specifications, furniture, finishes and lighting — everything resolved and documented.

  4. 04

    Delivery & support

We stay close through build and fit-out, answering questions from contractors and checking that what gets built matches what we designed.
